Draft Concession Package Summary

2009 National Draft

> Ability to sign upto 12x 17 year olds born between January 1st-April 30th 1992 in 2009

2009 Rookie Draft

> All first 5 selections - pick 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5

2010 National Draft

> 9x 1st round picks - 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, and 15 (all priority picks suspended) and the first pick of every other round (i.e. pick 26 and 43)
> Ability to sign a upto 16 uncontracted players from all 16 other AFL clubs in 2010 (AFL clubs losing players will be compensated with future draft pick per AFL formula determining player value)

2010 Rookie Draft

> 1st selection in the rookie draft
> Alternate Queensland priority selections with Brisbane (GC17 have the first selection)

Zone Selections

> Access to upto 5 Queensland players prior to the 2010, 2011 and 2012 National drafts
> Access to upto 3 NT players prior to the 2010 draft

Other

> 48 player main list and upto 9 player rookie list in 2011 - reducing each season (46/9 in 2012, 42/9 in 2013, 40/9 in 2014) until reverting to a regular 38 player main list by 2015
> Extra $1 million salary cap allowed for 2011, reducing each season (800K extra in 2012, 600K extra in 2013, 400K extra in 2014) until reverting to regular salary cap (in line with other clubs) by 2015
> Ability to pre-list 10 players that had nominated for the 2009 AFL draft and weren't picked up or were previously listed with an AFL club at the end of the 2010 season

Compensation picks (other 16 clubs)

> Any club that loses a player to GC17 is eligible for a compensation pick
> Compensation picks can be used any time within the next 5 years
> Clubs mus nominate the year which they plan to use the compensation pick prior to the first round of that season
> Compensation picks are assessed around (younger players weighted more favourably), club contract ranking (key players weighted more favourably), on field performance (strong best and fairest performances are weighed more favourably) and draft position (if player has less than four years experience)
> Assessment will deem whether the club is eligible for a compensatory pick in one of 5 spots - 1st round pick (taken immediately after the clubs existing 1st round pick), end of first round pick, second round pick
(taken immediately after the clubs exisisting 2nd round pick), end of second round pick and third round pick (taken immediately after the clubs existing 3rd round pick).
> 1st round compensation picks can't be used until the end of the 1st and 2nd round in 2010 and 2011
> Compensation picks will be tradeable
