2009 Rankings

My rankings are a ‘best available’ list based on my opinion of weighing up the player’s upside and likelihood of achieving it - they aren’t supposed to be a ‘phantom draft’. Also there are no needs of any particular team being taken into account, which would likely have influence on the rankings.

It is likely there’ll be a bias towards WA players as I reside in Perth and will have (in most cases) seen more of the local players both live and on vision - for interstate players I am relying mostly on DVDs of games (all U18 championships from the past 2 years) – some I may have seen live if they played or have played game(s) in WA (i.e. AIS or U18 Championships over the last 2 years) or at the final round of the championships at Etihad Stadium this year.

The following players (non-ex AFL) I’ve not seen at all or enough of (i.e. less than 3 occassions) to include:Howard (15 WBD), Bartlett (27 BRL), Gunston (29 ADE), Long (33 ESS), Gawn (34 MEL), Grimley (39 HAW), Dea (44 RIC), Bollenhagen (52 FRE), Norris (53 NM), Kerr (59 CAR), Markovic (63 WBD), Webberley (67 RIC), Duryea (69 HAW), Nason (71 RIC), O’Brien (73 BRL), Thorne (76 WBD), Johnson (77 STK), Retzlaff (84 BRL)

  1. Why did you rate Thomas higher then Ball?

    Though we got Both

  2. Mainly because he has the potential to have twice the career span (upto 10+ years for JT if he's good enough vs closer to 5 years for LB).

  3. can i just say i love how you put Deon Gordon in the top 45. I think he will end up being the pick of the rookie draft.
