Taylor Hunt (Sandringham Dragons/Vic Metro) - Draft Profile

Height: 182.6cm
Weight: 83.4kg
Preferred foot: Right
Playing Style: Outside running HBF

Potential: 6-7.5/10

Strengths

> Excellent pace and uses it –2.92s 20m at DC, but wouldn’t be surprised if he’s quicker – uses his pace very well going for long dashing runs off HB often 40m+(kicked a goal running from HB linking up once and continuously running forward)

> High hurt factor

> Good power and quickness with the hands

> Generally clean hands at ground level

Weaknesses

> Needs to be fed to be effective

> Handballing can be a bit sloppy – often coughs it up under pressure

> Inconsistent kick – OK penetration, doesn’t consistently hit targets and uses his hands a lot – though in his favour he is often running at full pelt when he’s kicking

> Below average decision making skills - often tries to do too much and doesn’t routinely pick good options

> Low possession winner – drifts in and out of games

> So-so engine

Other

> Generally hard at the footy but no inside midfield ability

> Turned up with high skinfolds to DC

Overall

Hunt is an exciting player to watch. At best I see him being very similar to Jason Gram (without the 60m kick) – a quick running HBF that breaks the lines with his pace and can send the footy forward I50 (not always accurately but quickly enough to do some damage). He’s certainly no safe bet as there are quite a lot of areas that need work (real possibility of being a flop), but I think a mid to late round pick (around the 40s) would be fair value.
